June Newsletter '19

Oh... hey...

Welcome back to your favorite monthly dose of non-profit theatre content!

Tiaras for Everyone!

First off, we want to start by saying THANK YOU (this seems to be becoming a trend) to everyone who came to see Typed Out: A Princess Cabaret at 54 Below! Our audience was so lovely and inviting to our performers, and played a huge role in supporting our message and making the night a roaring success. As a result of the show, and numerous peoples generosity, Thousand Faced was able to donate even more money to the Lower East Side Girls Club than we expected and help contribute to the next generation of strong and empowered women.

Still hungry for new work? Still wanna support grassroots theatre? Still adhering to the rule of 3? KEEP SCROLLING!

*TFTC pivoting to our next production*

Now to the good stuff.

Matt Schultz Reviews

Matt has seen a lot of theatre this month from Ain't Too Proud and Long Lost, to Puffs and what he said maybe the best thing he's seen this year: Something Clean. Something Clean is a play by Selina Fillinger running Off-Broadway at Roundabout's Black Box Theater.

Matt: Arguably the best thing I've seen all year.

Thus concludes this month's segment of Matt Shultz Reviews, come back next month for your next dose of insight!

Behind the Curtain

There is a lot happening in the lives of the members of TFTC, and we thought we'd let you know about it. Who knows? Maybe you're super interested.

Director of Media Lera Zamaraeva left New York earlier this month for a contract at the Black Hills Playhouse in South Dakota. There she will be performing in 3 shows including Side Show under the direction of Bill Russell. She'll still be helping with social media posts and designs while there (in the off chance she can connect to the internet) and we wish her a joyful and artistically fulfilling summer away!

Matt Beary, Director of Records and Communication (and serial 4th wall breaker) will be heading back to the plains to visit family and celebrate his mother's birthday. He will most likely spend the majority of his time hanging out with his rock-star niece and eating/drinking large quantities of unhealthy foods.

Ok, we get it, enough about us.

Now to highlight all the things members of our community are up to!

The Goings On

Thousand Faced wants to give a huge congratulations to On the Quays for their stunning concert celebrating World Pride #whataboutlove: 50 Years of Divas! at the Green Room 42 on Sunday night. They continue to do great work and I've never left a show of theirs disappointed.

TFTC sister company Iris Productions is producing CRAZY FIERCE ASIANS at the Green Room 42 on July 14th at 7pm. The cast will also include community member Christae Evanson! Get your tickets here.

Board Member Miranda Luze will be performing in Dandelion at 54 Below on August 14th at 9:30pm. Mark your calendars and click here to get your tickets!

You've done it! You made it to the end without giving up, closing out, or sending us to your spam folder (...Marilyn). Thank you for reading, and as always let me know if you'd like me to add, subtract, divide, or multiply anything that would make your newsletter reading even better.
