Hey reader! It's been a minute since you last heard from me, so allow me to pare down a couple months worth of updates and bring you up to speed with what we're up to.
For us at TFTC, the last few months have been spent planning what projects we'd like to tackle in the new year, and laying the groundwork to make those goals a reality.
Yesterday was Giving Tuesday, a day to celebrate your favorite non-profits by sending them a donation to show your support for the work that they do. If TFTC happens to fall into the category of "favorite non-profits" for you, we've got a number of ways in which you can show us your support: 1) You can visit thousandfacedtheatre.com/donate and show us some love with your cold hard cash. 2) You can visit thousandfacedtheatre.com/shop and get some of our swag, the funds from your purchase will go towards helping TFTC, and you get to show us off to all of your friends and family over the holidays! 3) You can support one of our in-house projects directly by becoming a patron of the Professional Pretenders Podcast on Patreon. 4) You can support us in non-monetary ways by following us on instagram (@thousandfacedtheatre), listening to Her Sound Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 which are available on any streaming platform, and just generally spreading the word about us or any of our projects to someone you think might be interested. If you were to engage with us using any or all of these methods, we at TFTC would be beyond grateful. We truly can't say enough how lucky we are to have such a supportive community, and we couldn't do what we do without all of you.
Thousand Faced Theatre Company has just been accepted into the Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York. ART/NY has spent the past 40 years assisting over 400 member theatres in realizing their artistic visions, and TFTC is ecstatic to join the ranks of so many influential and inspiring theatres across the city. You can now mention TFTC with the likes of Atlantic Theatre Company, Playwrights Horizons, Ars Nova, and Manhattan Theatre Club. So like, nbd.
Professional Pretenders Podcast
On Sunday, the Professional Pretenders Podcast celebrated one year since its first episode was released, and this spring we're gearing up for our 3rd Season! If you find yourself missing the sounds of Nathan, JD, and I gabbing about all things theatre, go back and give us another listen! Our episodes can be found wherever you listen to podcasts.
Now the reason for your lack of newsletter last month (which you may have put together if you read the October Newsletter) is because I've spent the last few weeks in rehearsals for Jersey Boys aboard the Norwegian Bliss. After a few delays, we are now finally in our last week of rehearsals and are set to open on Friday!
Thank you all for bearing with me while I battle spotty satellite wifi in the middle of the ocean, and not flooding our inbox with hate mail about how you couldn't believe you didn't get a newsletter last month (though I would've been honored). All that to say, I hope you have a beautiful holiday season full of light and love, and thank you for letting me share in a little of that by allowing me into your inbox once a month. Thankful for all of you.
That's the last you'll hear from me in 2021, Don't worry, if Santa asks, I'll put in a good word for you. I got you boo. Until next year, happy holidays! All the best, Matt and TFTC
